You'll learn to "design for storage," find options beyond plastic boxes and dry cleaning bags, and dive into the details of storing feathers, fur, foam, and fininicky fabrics.
The workshop will end with a 20-minute Q&A to help brainstorm your own storage challenges.
ABOUT THE EDUCATORS:
Red Rum is a performance artist specializing in burlesque, drag, spectacle costuming, horror & gore, and .upcycling. In addition to storage tips, Red Rum will be talking about properly labeling prop weapons, body parts, and other alarming props to get them safely and legally through airport security
MsPixy has been performing, directing, and costuming in Chicago theater, burlesque, and cosplay since 1999, and is still using carefully-stored prop and costume items she acquired in the late 1980s at age 10. She is known for her "costume puppetry," pieces which create unique storage challenges with their unusual sizes, shapes, and materials.
